How To Configure WordPress 3 to use Subdomains in Plesk

If you’re looking to run a multisite install of WordPress 3  and your hosting provider uses Plesk let me save you a little bit of a headache.

My Scenario

If you want to do a multisite installation i.e. run multiple blogs from a single database you basicly have two options subdomains or subfolders. Because I want to map existing domains to the child sites I was going to be setting up I figured that from a DNS perspective it would be much easier to go with subdomains.

Thus my blogs would appear as

domain.com
blog1.domain.com
blog2.domain.com
blog3.domain.com

Then I can setup CNAME dns records to point traffic from the desired domain to the child blog subdomain

abccompany.com -> blog1.domain.com

MG52 – Volvo S49 Thermostat Replacement

I unfortunately threw my back out a few days ago so no new progress on the MG, but I did replace the thermostat in my Volvo over Easter so I figured I’d throw this video up now. I was getting a check engine light and when I pulled the codes it gave me P0128 code. After doing some searching on the interwebs that translates to “Coolant Temp Below Thermostat Regulating Temp”. From the looks of it most people replaced their coolant temp sensor first which did not fix the problem, then they went for the thermostat which did fix the problem. I figured I’d cut to the chase and just go right for the thermostat and sure enough that fixed the problem and only cost me $10.

MG 49 – S40 Oxygen Sensor Replacement

In this episode I replace an auction sensor on my 2001 Volvo S40. I discovered the problem when I started getting a check engine light, I pulled the codes with an OBD-II reader and the code it found was P0130 after some googling that pointed me in the direction of the oxygen sensor.

MG 48 – Volvo S40 Timing Belt Replacement

My volvo S40 has what’s called an intereference design engine, basicly what this means is that if the timing belt were to break the valve would stop moving and would hang in a position that would ‘interfere’ with the pistons path of travel. It wouldn’t really be an ‘oops pardon me while I squeeze by’ type of interference it would be possible broken piston heads and bent and broken valves.

Thus it’s recommend that the timing belt is replaced ever 100k miles, well right now I’m over 120k and I’m nervouse to say the least.

My dad was kind enough to help me out(did most of the work) and we got it done.
